Abdul Adams sat out the 2018 season after transferring from Oklahoma.

Offensive lineman Sam Heckel and running back Abdul Adams will both miss the remainder of spring practice with undisclosed injuries, Syracuse.com’s Stephen Bailey reported.

Heckel, listed as the starting center in the spring prospectus, is slated to have surgery. Adams was seen at practice with his left arm in a sling. Both, according to head coach Dino Babers, will be healthy for fall camp.
Adams earned acclaim for his two-touchdown performance in Syracuse’s Camping World Bowl win in December, his debut game for the Orange. Listed behind Moe Neal on the depth chart, this spring was crucial for Adams to establish his spot in the running back pecking order.
Heckel started 12 games at guard in 2017, but worked as a sixth man on the offensive line in 2018, starting one game. To replace Heckel inside, Airon Servais has moved back to center from tackle.
