Syracuse made its 11th-straight NCAA tournament after winning the ACC regular season title and coming off a 17-5 win over Colgate.

Syracuse has qualified for the NCAA tournament as the No. 8 seed. The Orange will play Cornell (12-4, 4-2 Ivy League) in the Carrier Dome on Sunday at 7:15 p.m. When SU played in Ithaca against the Big Red on April 10, Cornell beat SU, 13-8.

SU has now made the last 11 NCAA tournaments dating back to 2007. No. 12 Syracuse (8-6, 4-0 Atlantic Coast) finished its season on Saturday with a 17-5 dismantling of Colgate. The win snapped a two-game losing skid in which SU fell to Navy and then Virginia, in the first round of the ACC tournament.

Syracuse, which won the regular season ACC title, entered Selection Sunday with a mixed resume.  The Orange defeated Virginia and Duke on the road when each team was ranked in the top five nationally. But in between conference games, Syracuse faltered. SU lost five of its nine nonconference regular season matchups, including a 15-3 loss to Albany in the Carrier Dome and a 13-8 loss at Cornell.

Last season, SU was the No. 2 seed and defeated Yale in the Carrier Dome before losing to Towson in the quarterfinals. Syracuse hasn’t made Championship Weekend since 2013.
