Dom Madonna made 13 saves to help Syracuse beat Notre Dame on Saturday.

Syracuse (5-3, 3-0 Atlantic Coast) is up two spots in the Inside Lacrosse rankings and Dom Madonna has been named ACC Defensive Player of the Week after the Orange’s 10-6 win over then-No. 7 Notre Dame.

Madonna had 13 saves in the game and Syracuse held the Fighting Irish to its lowest goal output of the season (six). The Orange held Notre Dame scoreless on eight man-up opportunities while its offense was led by Nate Solomon, Brendan Bomberry and Jamie Trimboli who had two goals each.

Albany remains at No. 1 in the rankings while three other ACC teams cracked the Top 20 this week in No. 6 Duke, No. 12 Notre Dame and No. 13 Virginia. North Carolina, the only ACC team Syracuse hasn’t played yet, is also the only ACC team not ranked by Inside Lacrosse.

Syracuse plays next on Tuesday against Hobart at the Carrier Dome.
