1. Juice Jam lineup reaction

The Juice Jam lineup was announced on Monday night after weeks of nail-biting anticipation. Rapper Big Sean will headline the festival, EDM artist Oliver Heldens, Matt and Kim, BØRNS, iLoveMakonnen and SNBRN fill out the lineup. Music columnists Isha Damle and Brett Weiser-Schlesinger gave their thoughts on each artist and the Pulp Staff gave quick facts to know about every performer.

 



2. Sea lion exhibit weaves a story of love and dedication

Stefi Slavova is the head animal trainer in the Splash traveling sea lion exhibit. Growing up in Bulgaria, Slavova traveled the world with her family as a circus performer before settling in the United States in the 1980's.

The New York State Fair brought acts and exhibits of all shapes and sizes to Syracuse. Pulp tried the wackiest foods and checked out the most captivating shows including the only traveling sea lion show in the United States.

 

3. Lakeview Amphitheater debuts

The $49 million Lakeview Amphitheater opened to the public this week with the Miranda Lambert concert — the first at the venue. Pulp went behind-the-scenes to find out what went into the major construction project and how it will benefit the Syracuse community. The minds behind the project said the amphitheater brings the already-booming music scene in Syracuse to another level.

 

4. Columnist Kyle Stevens slowly eases us into fall

 

Kyle Stevens, one of Pulp’s movie columnists, made the transition from summer to fall a little easier this week with his rundown of the best movies coming to theaters this September. Stevens included a variety of genres, so there is something for everyone to get excited about. Yeah, there is something to get excited about after Labor Day.
